BECAUSE I LOVE THEM
“The two, stood facing each other. God robed in light, each thread glowing. Satan canopied in evil, the very fabric of his robe seeming to crawl.
Satan rose slowly off his haunches. Like a wary wolf, he walked a wide circle toward the desk until he stood before the volume and read the word: Immanuel.
Immanuel? He muttered to himself. God with us? The hooded head turned squarely toward the face of the Father.
No. Not even you would do that. Not even you would go so far. The plan is bizarre! You don’t know how dark I’ve made the Earth. It’s putrid. It’s evil. It’s…
It is mine, proclaimed the King. And I will reclaim what is mine. Why: Satan asked. Why would you do this? The Father’s voice was deep and soft… Because I love them.” ( Max Lucado…Cosmic Christmas)
Because I love them is a phrase that rolls off our tongues with ease. For there are many that we love, husbands, wives, children, grandchildren and friends. But this statement from the lips of God means so very much more than that.
Wrapped up in it is the Mystery of Grace that speaks of a ransom paid in blood, a ransom paid in full…a legacy of love from the edge of eternity past.
There is more to the phrase…Because I love them it continues to say… I chose to die so they might live, said JESUS. And for those who believe in this Death of God, there is life eternal with HIM. I have learned to love the Word of God and let it dwell in me richly. The word of God has etched upon my mind the Look of HIM whom I crucified. Yet when our eyes meet, I see only HIS love for me.
Through His pure atoning Grace, JESUS came to die that I might live. You and I have never been loved like this before.
Yes, God loves us humans and offers Salvation to all that would come to HIM in Repentance through the ONE Way of His Sons Cross. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow…..the ONLY place you will find Love, Mercy, Grace and HOPE is at the FOOT of HIS CROSS.
In the BOOK of JOB we are told that Satan was once the greatest of angels, but he became arrogant and proud. In Opposition to God, who created him, Satan led a rebellion. Now he has returned to the courts of God, where he once had a place of honor as the greatest of angels. Satan though fallen still has been granted access to heaven.
The BOOK of JOB has much to say to us about the reasons for our suffering in this world and especially why innocent people suffer. Yet there is a deeper level of truth for it reveals to us the relationship between God and Satan. God does not want us to be confused or uninformed about the power of Satan.
The adversary is deadly and powerful, he hates God and he hates us. But Satan is not the equivalent of God. He is under the authority of God. He is not the equal of God.
The book of Job shows us right from the start that God is in control of all things. All the forces of the universe are His to command. All of time and space are under His authority. Nothing ever takes God by surprise. There is nothing beyond the reach of God’s will, not even Satan.
This ancient war has been going on for thousands of years. The battlefield is in your mind. The prize is your heart and your soul. The objective of the deceiver is to keep you from knowing the truth. That you are not really alive, but part of the walking dead of this world, doomed to judgment for your original sin. Sin is part of your genetic makeup, and must be removed before you meet God.
God has given us only one way to remove our sin. He sent HIS SON JESUS to die on a CROSS for you and me, so whomever would look upon JESUS and accept His death in place of their own, for their sin; they would be cleansed and have Eternal life in Heaven.
Satan exists only to turn your eyes away from the CROSS, so you will die in your sins; and then INHERIT ETERNAL DEATH. Satan is a dog, held by a leash in the hands of ALMIGHTY GOD. Satan is allowed to do only what OUR TRIUNE GOD ALLOWS.
SATAN / LUCIFER… is the enemy of your soul.
