GOD and the CROSS of HIS SON

Tears of God

In many of my stories I imagine God speaking directly to me.

“My child God said to me. I wanted to tell you personally what the Crucifixion of My Son meant to me.

You have children and grand children and I know you love them. I know that you would do all you could to protect them from harm and that you would gladly take upon yourself their death. I know this because you were created in my image with the ability to Love.

I know that if men took your child and beat him with whips that ripped both flesh and bone from his back…that you could not be restrained.

I know if men forced your child to carry a beam of heavy wood down the street as people swore at him, mocking him, and spitting on him… that you could not be restrained.

I know if men forced your child to lie down on that cross and then drove nails through his feet and hands to hold him there…that you could not be restrained.

Could you Ernie? The Lord asked softly…no Lord I said quietly.

I stood and watched as they did all those things to my Son. I stood there not for His sake but for yours, because He took that punishment not for His sake but for yours….I honored you through His Pain. But Ernie, when Jesus…MY SON cried out …MY GOD…MY GOD…WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?

That was more than I could bear, so I turned away and cried uncontrollably. My Son had wept over Jerusalem; and now I wept over my Son. Yes, I could not look upon the Worlds Sins that MY Son was bearing, but even more than that, if I had looked at HIM at the moment HE said those words…I knew in my heart …

That I could not be restrained!

Ernie…I wanted you and those that say they love my Son, to know that even for the Joy set before both HIM and I…the Cross was the most difficult thing either of us have gone through.”

Approaching HIS Cross

Please notice as we approach HIS Cross.

It is not higher than the rest of the crosses on the road. The two flanking crosses are at the same height as HIS. If we did not know it was HIM, we would have walked by not noticing HIS Cross. The only thing that was different was the sign over HIS head that read…

“This IS the KING of the JEWS.” Luke 23:38.

Jesus looked like every other Jew hanging on a cross along the road. There was nothing unique about HIM visually. It was the words that He spoke that drew attention and the miracles that He did that gave HIM credibility. But here on the Cross-He did not stand out for He came to die as one of us…so He blended in.

If you did not know the story you would not know that God was hanging there before you.
What of the two Crosses on either side? They remind us that we have a choice to make. For the one thief accepted Christ and went to be with Christ in Heaven; while the other went to hell condemned by the original sin he was born with and then carried to his death.

Scripture makes it clear that there IS a Heaven and Hell.

On The Cross:

Jesus knew my name.

Jesus knew my story.

I was on His mind when He Died!

HE   IS   RISEN !

Remember JESUS and Share HIS Story ! ! !

Easter Thoughts

Easter Thoughts: 1 of 5
Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord.

In Matthew 23, Jesus spoke these words, “you will not see me again Jerusalem, until you say, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.”

Jesus waits to hear those words from His people Israel so He can come back to Jerusalem. It will happen because God said it would.
In HIS timing the True Remnant of Israel, only 1/3rd of the Nation will recognize, Him whom they have pierced. They will call upon Him together, in a time of great sorrow…. and The Messiah, The Christ, The Son of God will answer them and SAVE them.

But, Jesus also waits to hear those same words “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord” from your lips as well. Because in the truest sense the Lords resting place is not Jerusalem, it is within your heart that He wishes to reside. He will bring with Him, Healing, Restoration, Grace, and Mercy for your Heart, Mind and Soul.

If you just listen and be still you can hear God say to you…. “there will be healing in this house…in your house when I come in to live within you. Please open your heart to Me. I bring you peace for troubled times. You lived within me in eternity past and now I have come to live within you…and then together we will walk into eternity future and you will have the joy of my pleasure from age to age to age yet to come.”

Easter Thoughts: 2 of 5
Why would God shed HIS blood …so pure and undefiled for such a one as me? The answer is simple…. because you are His Chosen precious child.

The next clear, dark, starry night, when you look up to the heavens…remind yourself of the Psalmists question to God in Psalm 8:4…”What is man that You are mindful of him?”

God answers that for us in Psalm 103: 13-14…”Just as a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust.”

His compassion for you was poured out through His Sons blood on the Cross. Today, if you do not know Him you are one of the Walking Dead. Your future is to die twice not once. Open your mind and examine the Truth of the Word of God. Ask Him to make the Truth clear to you. Claim His Promise in Proverbs 8:17…”I love those who love Me; and those who diligently seek Me will find Me.”

Easter Thoughts: 3 of 5
Believe that HE is and believe in what He says.

The words in the Bible of His prophesied coming have all been fulfilled. Therefore the prophecies of His 2nd coming will all be fulfilled as well. The words of the Bible are the Promises of God…. and God does not lie!

Jesus will come again soon because of:
1. Gods Promise to Himself.
2. Gods Promise to destroy satan.
3. Gods Promise to His creation.
4. Gods Promise to save a believing Remnant both Jew and Gentile.
5. Gods Promises to the Nation of Israel.
6. Gods Promises to You.

Every day that you live is a day of Mercy and Gods Grace to you…but even for God there is a time when His patience towards you will end. He will stop waiting for you. On that day He will honor your decision to live forever without HIM.

Faith is Trust based on Evidence…WE Choose to Believe

Its pitch black outside but soon their will be rays of light and the sun will shine and once again ONLY because of the promises of God, another day will begin.

It’s interesting how you can light one candle in the darkness and the darkness flees from the light, such is the power of light. Jesus claimed to be the truth, the light of the world. The world has seen a great light, but it seems that since His coming 2,000 years ago His light has diminished and the darkness is growing.

The more familiar you are with the Greatest Story Ever Told, the more you understand the times we live in …that they are called the End – times by Jesus.

What has changed in our world that now it is the darkness that grows and the light recedes and the minds of people grow dim?

The Lord has asked us to witness and there is an urgency to do so because “Soon the night will come” and the light and the Truth will not be found.

This darkness that is all around is not physical but Spiritual. We are experiencing the Dawn of the darkness of Sin.

Not physical darkness you can see, but darkness of the soul and mind causing us to see life through a mirror dimly. Just like God has said, we are seeing everything that is wrong becoming right and what is right becoming wrong.

Darkness fills our time and we wait for the day when time is no more and the Dawn of Eternity breaks…so you and I watch the sky and wait for the coming King.

We wait…because we believe that the Bible is the Word of GOD to us. The evidence presented through History, Archeology, Science and most of all Prophecy is overwhelming regarding Jesus, His life, death and resurrection.

For the JOY set before HIM, Endured the Cross…Hebrews 12:2

The Prophet Isaiah foretold death’s destruction in an ancient prophecy: “God will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord (Jesus) will wipe away the tears from all faces.” (Isaiah 25:7-8).

We live this life on earth; we cling to it with all our might. We think things can never be better than this. But God promises us that it can get better, far better than this…and it will.

Listen to what the Apostle John said in Revelation 21:1, 3-5. “Then I saw a new Heaven and a new Earth…And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes.

There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!”

Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

These are the words of King Jesus. Count on them. Take them to the bank. Live every day in the light of Christ. Make every choice knowing you stand in the light of Christ’s promises to you.

We were all made for one person and one place. Jesus is the person. Heaven is the place.

If you know Jesus, I’ll be with you in that resurrected world with the Lord we love and with friends we cherish. We will embark together on the ultimate Journey of Joy forever, in a spectacular new universe awaiting our exploration and dominion.

Jesus will be the center of all things, and joy will be the air we breathe. And yes, right when we think “it doesn’t get any better than this…it will.”

Easter Thoughts: Who Killed Jesus The CHRIST?

I am a Messianic (Jewish) believer in Jesus. That means I believe Jesus is the Messiah that the Jewish people are looking for. Jesus is also the Christ of Christianity. Jesus is one and the same, the SON of GOD. I have been asked the above question by both Jewish and non-Jewish friends; since the release of Mel Gibson’s movie “The Passion of Christ”.  The following is my answer to the question, “Who killed Jesus, The Christ”.

The “ANSWER” to this question can simply be put into one sentence. But understanding the question and the far reaching implications that the “ANSWER” has attached to it requires a much greater “ANSWER” than one simple sentence can express.

Who killed Christ?   I did, you did,   every human being that has walked this earth did, the Romans did and the Jews did.  But, THE PERSON who bears sole responsibility for the death of The Christ is GOD, HIS Father.

The God who created the universe, the earth, mankind and all that is upon the earth, also created Time and History. The mystery of history is that it is really HIS- Story, the story of Jesus/Yeshua the Messiah, the Christ.

History is the story of how and why Gods only Son chose to enter space and time to die on a Cross for the Sin’s of everyone.  So that when we die, you and I could have a way to go home to be with God in Heaven.

Easter Thoughts: Give them the Gospel

Easter is the day that we are called to Remember Jesus and His death on the Cross and what it cost HIM…. to Redeem us…to pay for each of us whom HE chose before the Foundations of the World
were made.

Sometimes Holidays become too familiar to us. And we loose sight of what they were meant to remind us about.

Did you know the Word of God tells each of us to count the cost of our decision to believe in Jesus?

For me, coming to know Jesus at 38 years old as a Jew cost me dearly…it cost me my entire family. After 10 years when the wounds began to heal and I was allowed back; those relationships of love had grown cold with time and were gone.

Today when I look back I find it selfish to think about what it cost me…when I think about what it cost God!

We never think about the tears of God that continue to fill the oceans of the world…we think more about our tears.

We never think about the tears that Christ wept and still weeps for the multitudes that He died for that choose a different destiny… of eternal life away from Him. …instead we think more about our tears.

The Gospel is the greatest gift that you can give those you love.

Then Maybe… just maybe… the LORD will allow you to plant the last seed that brings Salvation to the person that you love.

Then in Heaven, as the two of you cry and weep together, for the Joy of the fact that you both know Jesus, and the Joy that you will both have an eternity together.

Then Jesus…. who already took His Nail Scarred Hands and wiped away the tears of sorrow from your eyes…will rejoice before each of you… as the two of you wipe the tears of JOY from each others eyes.

Now…how AWESOME would that be?

Easter Thought: the Birth of Adam

“Then God said, “Let US make man in OUR image, according to OUR likeness….So God created man in HIS own image; in the image of God HE created him; male and female HE created them….Then God blessed them.”…………Genesis 1:26 – 27

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”………..Genesis 2:7

Lets go back in time for a moment to when God made Adam. God reached down into the earth and gathered a handful of dust from which He would create the first man. God is omniscient meaning He knows the future. He knew that there would be days coming when He would have to sacrifice His only begotten Son on a Cross-to bring salvation to the race of mankind.

So when God gathered the dust to form the first man, it was His tears that wet the dust to turn it into clay as God molded Adam into His Image. These were the first of the many tears of God because He knew what the cost was going to be to His beloved Son on the Cross.

He knew that He would have to turn away from the cries of His Son on the Cross-when Jesus roared “My God, My God…Why have you forsaken me?” Yet God made Adam anyway from the dust mixed with His Tears. Then as Adam awoke a new creation…the first man…Adam stood and stretched his arms out as all of us do when we awake.

And the light that reflected from God upon the first man created a shadow of the Cross-behind the man.  God’s eyes looked upon the dust that Adam was made of and tears filled the eyes of God again.

The Shadow of Mans Cross would be there every morning in this land filled with both light and shadows till the end of mankind’s days.

Easter Thought: the river of blood

Did you know that there is a River of Blood that flows from the Earth to Heaven?

This river of blood represents the deaths of the multitudes in the last 2,000 years that died in the arms of Christ believing in His death on the Cross-for their sins. This river of blood when viewed from Heaven looks like a Scarlet Ribbon.

If you look closely you will see that it is anchored in the base of the Cross of Christ, planted deep into the Judean soil within the boundaries of the City of God called Jerusalem.

The other end of the Scarlet Ribbon is tied the Throne of God. It connects to both Jesus and the Great Cloud of Witness behind Gods throne. Then scarlet strands reach out across the entire world from heaven connecting to the Remnant, the Redeemed called from before the world was formed that live today on planet earth.

These scarlet strands are attached to each of us personally who believe in Jesus and are living today in time.

If only every person made in the image of God could come to know Christ during their journey in life so the weight and burden of the beam could be lifted and carried by their Savior for them!
