As a Father I want to tell you how much I respect and admire Mothers. God has given you a gift that He has not given to men. God has given you a heart that is capable of expressing unconditional love for your Children and Grand Children; no matter what life brings.

You also have had more involvement in raising and molding your Children and Grandchildren; to be the people that GOD wants them to be.

You have the ability to see through the eyes of Love; no matter what life brings.  Each of you is truly blessed as a Mother. And the Lord of LIFE, the LORD of LOVE…JESUS wishes you…  a Happy Mother’s Day.

There have been a number of Mothers stories told in the Bible. Yet there is One Woman who has been blessed from Heaven more than all the others.

She also serves as a True Example for Earthly Mothers to follow.

Her Hebrew name is Miriam…you would know her as Mary: The Mother Who is Blessed among Women

Mary, a virgin pledged to a man named Joseph, was also visited by the angel Gabriel. He said to her in Luke 1:31,

“Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”

Mary wondered at how this would be possible, and the angel told her, “The Holy Sprit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.” Mary embraced these words in faith. When she visited her cousin Elizabeth, Elizabeth proclaimed, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!” Mary believed God would fulfill His promise.

An angel of the Lord also visited Joseph, who put him at ease with Mary’s pregnancy. As we read in Matthew 1, Joseph took Mary to be his wife, but they did not consummate the marriage until after she had given birth. Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem for a census, where she gave birth in the humblest of environments, a Stable filled with animals.

Mary treasured up many things in her heart as she raised Jesus, but she also had to endure the greatest sacrifice of all time—her son was the Son of God and He had come to give Himself up as a sacrifice, the one and only sacrifice that could be made for mankind. She had to watch Him suffer, be tortured and mocked, and die a cruel death on a cross by crucifixion.

The cross cut deeply into Mary’s heart. Despite the pain, Mary was there. She was a mother from the beginning, and a mother at the end. A mother called by God never relinquishes the title of Mother.

When a woman becomes a mother, there is an instant realization that the day will almost certainly come when pain will be part of her life. The crosses are different for every family, but frankly, the crosses usually come. There may be a divorce, or disease, or death. There may be harsh words, and unacceptable actions. There may be tough love, and impossible nights.

Through it all, mothers called by God will be a Mother for Eternity. There is nothing like a mother’s love.

What a gift from God, to live long enough for parenting to make sense! Some parents live long enough to see God’s plan for their children. Some see God working in the lives of their grandchildren. Some surely only see God’s plan from the halls of heaven.

Scripture tells parents in Proverbs 22:6   “Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

There are so many solid principles for parenting in the Bible, no parent can afford to not know them. If you’re going to be a godly parent, be sure to be immersed in God’s Word, fully committed to the calling He’s given you.

John 19 tells us,

“Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, ‘Woman, here is your son,’ and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.’ From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.”

Even while He was dying, Jesus cared for His mother and gave her a new son to love her. Mary was blessed among women, for she was chosen by God to bear His Son and raise Him. Though there was death there was yet joy for Mary, as her son did not stay dead. He rose again from the grave, securing eternity for her and all who would believe.
