“Quiet…be Still…and KNOW that I am God”.

In the Old Testament book of 1 Kings: Ch.18, beginning in verse 20 thru Ch.19:13, there is a story of Elijah the Prophet and how he killed 450 priests of Baal but then feared for his life and hid in a cave. The Lord God spoke to Elijah asking him why he was hiding in the cave. Then God told him to go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord and behold the Lord passed by.

“And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire and after the fire a sound of a gentle wind”…and Elijah went out and stood at the caves entrance and Gods voice spoke to him.

Today, God does not speak in a voice to us. No, you will not hear an audible voice. But if you quiet your heart before him, He will speak to your heart through HIS written word.

The question for all of you who have had courses in World Religions is simply which voice (Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Mormonism, etc.) is the TRUE voice of God. There can only be one Truth, everything else must be a lie.

All those religions I mentioned claim to come from THE God. Most people today believe that all religions ultimately provide the same path to God. Yet, when you study for yourself, the God of these religions, you will find their Gods are all very different from each other. Which God do you believe? Which religion is true?

I have been talking to people since May of 1985 about THE God I serve. The conversations always come down to the question of “What Is Truth?” All of us have beliefs in something, but are those beliefs based on personal investigation or a shallow, belief that parrots the opinions of other people. People repeating what they have heard, people who have never taken the time to investigate any of the religions let alone life’s most important question…Where do I go when I die and what’s waiting for me upon my arrival?

Each of you know that life is short. The Bible calls your life a “puff of smoke”…your here, then gone. At the very best you will be remembered by 2 generations.

Do yourself a favor. Take a deep breath and ask the REAL God to make HIMSELF known to you…listen, quietly, as HE Whispers to your Heart. He wants you to know who He really is…He waits patiently for you to find Him…and when you do He will let you know HIM personally.
