Matthew 7: 13-14“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”

God determined that he would rather go to Hell on our behalf than live in Heaven without us. He so much wants us not to go to Hell that he paid a horrible price on the cross so that we wouldn’t have to.

The price has been paid. But still, we must choose. Like any gift, forgiveness can be offered, but it isn’t ours until we choose to receive it. In the end it is our choice that directs our eternal destiny.

The Prophet Isaiah foretold death’s destruction in an ancient prophecy: “God will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord (Jesus) will wipe away the tears from all faces.” (Isaiah 25:7-8).

We live this life on earth; we cling to it with all our might. We think things can never be better than this. But God promises us that it can get better, far better than this…and it will.

Listen to what GOD wrote through the Apostle John in Revelation 21:1, 3-5. “Then I saw a new Heaven and a new Earth…And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes.

There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!”

Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

These are the words of King Jesus. Count on them. Take them to the bank. Live every day in light of them. Make every choice in light of Christ’s certain promise.

We were all made for a person and a place. Jesus is the person. Heaven is the place.

If you know Jesus, I’ll be with you in that resurrected world. With the Lord we love and with friends we cherish, we will embark together on the ultimate Journey of Joy forever, in a spectacular new universe awaiting our exploration and dominion.

Jesus will be the center of all things, and joy will be the air we breathe. And yes, right when we think “it doesn’t get any better than this…it will.”

God says the time of Salvation is now, not one minute from now. We don’t know if we have the next minute…we only have now.
